Your choices are (AC) or (DC) and are dependant on your X Ray image processing methods:
AC: If you have a phosphor plate scanner you can use any X Ray source that is compliant with current Ionising Radiation Regulations. AC X Rays are cheaper and often 1st choice in this case.
DC: If you have sensors that are either cordless or directly wired in to your Computer then you will need a DC X-Ray Source (Digital = shorter exposures) these cost more.
